GTA V coming Spring 2013!

The workaholics at Rockstar Games have finally confirmed the past few weeks worth of interesting rumours. GTA V will release sometime between March and June of 2013 if all goes according to plan!

Today, we’re proud to announce that Grand Theft Auto V is expected to launch worldwide spring 2013 for Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3.

Developed by series creator Rockstar North, Grand Theft Auto V takes place in a re-imagined, present-day Southern California in the largest and most thriving game-world we have ever created set in the sprawling city of Los Santos and for miles beyond – from the tops of the mountains to the depths of the ocean.

Starting next week November 5, 2012, Grand Theft Auto V will become available for pre-order everywhere and fans can expect a host of new information to become available in November.

Should T2’s financial projections hold true, V should release before 31 March 2013, if however the game slips into fiscal year 2014 (1 April 2013 – 31 March 2014), wouldn’t it be something if the game released on the 29th of April 2013, 5 years to the day of GTA IV’s release date. Could the V in GTA V hold the truth to the release date of Rockstar’s most ambitious title yet? Time will tell. For now lets look forward to the mammoth 18 page preview to be found in next week’s Game Informer GTA V spectacular.

Take-Two Interactive recently posted its financial results and there was some interesting news pertaining to GTA V:

Moreover, with Grand Theft Auto V slated for spring 2013, we are poised to generate substantial revenue and earnings growth in fiscal year 2014.

Sadly this means GTA V will release after 31 March 2013, but during the spring, which ends in mid June. Let the release date predictions begin….

RockstarLasia predicts 30 April 2013, 5 years to the day GTA IV was released in 2008.

Grand Theft Auto: Vice City 10th Anniversary Announced for Mobiles, First Details Revealed

Just announced, Rockstar Games broke the news on their newswire and said the following:

Building on the success of the groundbreaking Grand Theft Auto III in 2001, the release of Grand Theft Auto: Vice City on October 29, 2002 pushed the open world game series deeper into popular culture with a vibrant over-the-top take on Miami, a stunning celebrity voice cast and a loving, satirical look at the cultural excesses of the ‘80s.

To celebrate the 10th anniversary, there will be a series of commemorative assets released, including never-before-seen artwork and a brand new anniversary trailer highlighting some of the most iconic scenes and music from the game.  In addition, a limited run of collectable promotional items will be made available for purchase through the Rockstar Warehouse, with select items also available via online giveaways.

In conjunction with the anniversary, we’re pleased to announce that we’ll be releasing an Anniversary Edition of Grand Theft Auto: Vice City for select iOS and Android devices later this fall. This upcoming version will bring the full experience to mobile devices, featuring native high-resolution graphics and several enhancements unique to the iOS and Android platforms. Stay tuned for more details in the weeks ahead including a list of compatible iOS and Android devices.

First GTAV Official Artwork: Pest Control; “Lots of info coming next month”

Rockstar has released the first official artwork from GTA V, called Pest Control.

V has retained that classic Rockstar artwork aesthetic, with slight variations. The artwork attempts to blend the visuals of the GTA IV and GTA III era artworks, ala GTA Vice City Stories.

GTA V is Game Informer’s December cover story!

It has been a year in the making. After the impressive first GTA V trailer last November, the GTA community was looking forward to their next tid bit of info. An educated guess, as a result of a certain tradition dating back to Vice City was the collaboration between Game Informer and Rockstar Games of a GTA cover and information extravaganza.

Boy did we wait. Each month the gtaforums community would gather and countdown to a new cover reveal, hoping beyong hope that it would finally be our day.

Unexpectedly (something Rockstar has been great at or terrible at depending on your level of frustration), Game Informer editor Andy Mcnamara sent out this simple yet game changing tweet.

In NYC, about to check out December’s cover game

Game Informer has gone on to write an article about it on their front page. Furthermore Rockstar themselves have confirmed the great news.
Game informer reveals their latest cover art on the first Thursday of the month, so we should see the cover by the 1st of November (or even earlier).
Can we expect another trailer before the cover reveal and/or a release date? Stay tuned to find out!
